My Songs of October 2020

Image
October was a month that I underwent another existential crisis. It was pretty bad as those thoughts kept me wide awake at night, almost every nights. I didn't get to sleep until around 4 AM because my stubborn brain decided that midnight was the best time to overthink and question everything about life. So yeah, I definitely was not in a good place. RUELLE - I Get To Love You Fell in love with the song when I heard it for the first time. I was overwhelmed with emotions when I heard this song. Think it is the most romantic songs that I have ever heard recently. The lyrics were beautifully written πŸ’— Like, I want this song to be my wedding song but I don't even want to get married 😝 Lauv - I Like Me Better The Warblers (Glee Cast) - I Want You Back

The One That Got Away

You will always be the one that got away.  The anchor to majority of my twenties what ifs.  The big chunk of romantic regrets of my twenties.

My Songs of September 2020

Image
September was a month full of regrets? I regretted number of my actions, or lack thereof. I was deeply affected as I missed quite a lot of opportunities, especially job-related when I forgot to check my emails everyday. I learned my lessons, in a very hard way, unfortunately πŸ˜” It was also a month where I spent majority of my waking time watching English TV shows (finally, after what felt like an eternity!) and browsing random videos on YouTube. I also kinda took unplanned walk down memory lane when watching those English TV shows and random videos on YouTube. Brett Young - In Case You Didn't Know Shane Filan - Eternal Flame Dan + Shay, Justin Bieber - 10,000 Hours

Everything Is Awful and I'm Not Okay: Questions to Ask before Giving Up

Image
I stumbled upon this note (again!) that I picked up during one of my exam weeks back when I was a student. I faintly remember that anything except studying was all I wanted to do at that moment. Mental health was something that my school prioritized (in my opinion) so they had a lot of things prepared so that students can de-stress during exam weeks and this note was one of them. Original note can be found at this Tumblr account .  Are you hydrated? If not, have a glass of water. Have you eaten in the past three hours? If not, get some food - something with protein, not just simple carbs. Perhaps some nuts or hummus? Have you showered in the past day? If not, take a shower right now. If daytime: are you dressed? If not, put on clean clothes that aren't pyjamas. Give yourself permission to wear something special, whether it's a funny t-shirt or pretty dress. If nighttime: are you sleepy and fatigued but resisting going to sleep? Put on

2019 Sweet Sorrow Concert (Greeting) / 2019 μŠ€μœ—μ†Œλ‘œμš° μ½˜μ„œνŠΈ (인사)

Let's just pretend that I didn't finish writing and posting this post in the middle of COVID-19 outbreak, okay? *pinky promise*  Credit: Here 2019 Sweet Sorrow Concert (Greeting) First, let me rant something related to Sweet Sorrow first. I was so sad that I didn't get to attend their Love & Sweet concert last December 😭 It's Love & Sweet kot. So, the concert setlist was probably my cup of tea! My manager said our cuti dibekukan starting November until further notice because we were short-staffed. But, apparently, he was joking. By the time I learned that he was joking, the return flight tickets had become so expensive!!! 😭 I mean, I can still afford the tickets but I don't think I want to spend that much of money just to attend their concerts 😭 So, I regrettably had to pass. Now that I have get this out of my system, I shall start with the real update of 2019 Sweet Sorrow Concert (Greeting) / 2019 μŠ€μœ—μ†Œλ‘œμš° μ½˜μ„œνŠΈ (인사). Shall we? πŸ˜‰

My Songs of August 2020

Image
August was all about me trying to coax my heart to accept the fact that I'm now officially unemployed. I saw this coming but it is still kinda hard to digest the fact. I'm currently actively looking for a job, so if you know anyone is hiring, please direct them to me. Also, your prayer is much appreciated during this tough times 😊 August was also the month that I started going crazy of anything Chinese all over again. I think it was ages ago when I last had this Chinese-holic phase. I consumed too much Chinese contents to the point that I started getting sick of them. lol. Super Junior M - At Least I Still Have You It's been years since I last listened to this song. The last time I listened to this song was during my ELF phase. lol. Recently, I have been playing this song non-stop, again, ever since I heard the snippet of the song in one of the Chinese movies that I watched. And I just learned the fact that this song is so romantic! πŸ’“ He Jie & V

K-Street, SS15, Subang Jaya

Image
K-Street. SS15, Subang Jaya or formerly known as The Street Cafe, SS15 was the first Korean restaurant that I have ever visited in Malaysia. I first went to the K-Street few days before I finished my CPU program back in 2012. Ever since that, I find myself to keep coming to the restaurant at least once in every few years :) Good to know As everybody knows, it is hard to find a parking spot at SS15. Thankfully, K-Street has few parking spots reserved for their customers. I think you need to ask the person in charge if you are thinking to use the parking spots. I have yet to use the reserved parking spots as my sister and I tend to use public transportation to go to SS15, Also, we were quite lucky as we tend to get a parking spot whenever we were at SS15. My sister and I kept sitting at this booth. lol. I sat here with my friends when I first came to the K-Street years ago. You can even find my handwritten note here. Spoiler alert : It's not about K-anything at all!

My Songs of July 2020

Image
July was all about me feeling a little bit mellow. Also, it was a month that I needed to keep reminding myself that these hard times shall pass soon, insya Allah. Please pray for me so that I can find a better job, insya Allah :) J Rabbit & Kim Young Woo of Sweet Sorrow (μ œμ΄λ ˆλΉ— & μŠ€μœ—μ†Œλ‘œμš° κΉ€μ˜μš°) - Let Me Be Your Season (λ„ˆμ˜ κ³„μ ˆμ΄ λ˜μ–΄μ€„κ²Œ) This song comforted me so much so that I can't help but smile whenever I listen to it. I love this song as a whole but the chorus stole my heart a little bit too much πŸ’“ Tim (νŒ€) - I Love You (μ‚¬λž‘ν•©λ‹ˆλ‹€) This is such an old song but I just can't help myself to keep listening to it. This song was probably the major reason that made me feeling mellow all day, every day this month. Kim Yeon Woo (κΉ€μ—°μš°) - Is It Still Beautiful (μ—¬μ „νžˆ μ•„λ¦„λ‹€μš΄μ§€) Oldie but goodie. That's it. That's the perfect description of this song :)

Sunflowers @ Taman Saujana HIjau, Putrajaya July 18, 2020 8:57 AM Went to the Taman Saujana Hijau for the first time with my sister for our first morning walk together. Would love to go the park again, provided if there's anyone willing to drive me there :)

Dookki, IOI City Mall

Image
My sister and I went to the Dookki, IOI City Mall twice. The first time was weeks before the MCO. The second time was quite recent. We paid MYR 36.80 per person when we went there for the first time but only MYR 29.80 per person when we went there on the second time. I guess they had some some sort of promotions. Also, they have different price for kids, so please check accordingly. Dookki, IOI City Mall For those who are unfaimiliar with Dookki, Dookki basically is a restaurant that serves topokki buffet. You pay flat price (or plus additional $$$ for the cheese ring) and you can have everything they have on menu. K-Fried Chicken Zone @ Dookki, IOI City Mall They had quite a number of fried things and few type of fried chickens which I can't recall perfectly. Pardon me. However, pretty sure my sister and I only took the yangnyeom chicken and a bunch of gimmari (deep fried seaweed rolls) because they are our favourites! :) Topokki Buffet @ Dookki, IOI

Halal Kitchen, Samcheong-dong

Image
I have been to South Korea, namely Seoul few times and every single trip, I went alone because it was hard to find anyone else to accompany me. As such, it was hard for me to go and eat at restaurants in South Korea as quite a lot of them were not solo-friendly (I had being denied few times) or I had to order for 2 as they had minimum order. Staircases to the Halal Kitchen, Samcheong-dong So, I was truly grateful when my friend whom I had barely interacted with after I left for Canada for second time, invited me to join her and her friends for lunch when I was in Seoul last year. I suggested that we go for lunch at the Halal Kitchen, Samcheong-dong because I have always wanted to try the food at the Halal Kitchen, Samcheong-dong :) Finding the restaurant was not hard because I was familiar with the area. I think it's hard for you to get lost once you have arrived at the Samcheong-dong. You just have to keep your eyes open, okay? :) Bulgogi (뢈고기) and Samgyetan
