Recent Interview Questions for UiTM Foundation in TESL | I posted a blog post titled; My Experience Attending the Interview for Foundation in TESL UiTM 5 years ago and ever since then, I kept getting similar questions around this time of year. 

I want to remind you again that I went to my interview over a decade ago. There have been changes in format and the type of questions asked, so just take everything that you read on my blog with a pinch of salt. 

Good to know: Everyone's experience is different, especially during recent years. Some got  2 questions, some got 7 questions. Some sessions lasted about 5 minutes but some sessions lasted about 15-20 minutes.

I think you just need to own the interview. You have to be confident when answering the questions. At the end of the day, the interviewers probably want to see how you communicate and expand the ideas in English. 

Tip: My take is to make your introduction as interesting as possible so that the interviewers will ask a lot of follow-up questions about you! 

Anyways, onto the next step. I have compiled several questions asked in different interviews held in 2024. Thank you to those who share their experience. I hope this post will be beneficial in some ways. Insya Allah.

3. Have you done any research on the TESL program? And what did you find out about it? 

4. Why specifically UiTM?

5. What's your hometown specialty? 

6. If you were to do a podcast, who would you invite? 

7. What's the meaning of your name? 

8. Who is your favourite teacher? 

9. What kind of environment do you want to create as a teacher? 

10. Have you ever tutored anyone before? 

11. What is the current issue that you know? 

12. What is the current education issue that you know? 

13. What kind of book do you like? 

14. How will you manage your time between study and extracurricular activities? 

15. Do you recommend A to your students? 

16. Out of the 4 main points in English, which one do you want to focus on solely? 

17. Why did your father choose that name for you? 

18. What's UiTM's motto? 

19. What is your approach/method in teaching English to attract students?

20. How to improve English in school?

21. You have good results for SPM. Why did you choose TESL at UiTM? Why not a bigger university?

22. How did you prepare yourself for this interview? 

23. How do you feel about being a middle child? 

24. What's your favourite book? 

25. Who's your favourite author? 

26. What would you contribute to the program if you were chosen?

Again, I like to reiterate, I believe most of the follow-up questions will be based on your previous response. So, answer smartly!
