When You Have to Go for Unpaid Leave

Have you read my post; How Does COVID-19 Situation Affect My Life? If you haven't, let me fill you in real quick. One of the concerns that I raised in the post was about my job. As previously mentioned, my management said they will not ask us to go for unpaid leave, let alone retrenching. However, if the situation becomes worse, they probably have to take a drastic measure.

The time for a drastic measure is finally here.

When You Have to Go for Unpaid Leave

I just finished off a meeting with my management and to no surprise, I was asked to go for an unpaid leave for 3 months (for now). This was not a surprise for me because I have seen this coming due to the nature of the industry itself and ever since the government announced the MCO. As such, I was kinda prepared for this bad news. Thankfully, I have got enough savings to survive the next 3 months, insya Allah. I just have to work on my motivation, my self confidence, and my self worth right now.

One thing that I felt grateful from the meeting just now was when the management said they actually wanted to me to come back to work. However they decided to ask me to go for unpaid leave as I do not feel safe and comfortable enough to go back to work.

I don't care if it was a lip service, but it surely felt nice to hear that 😂

Anyway, cheers to the 3 months off? (I'm trying so hard to sound positive here, lol) Hopefully, it will be filled with everything beneficial, insya Allah.
